  • Ready to Press Play on Potential? Lets Start with the RoleThe purpose of this position is to join the Finance team in Brazil, with a primary focus on overseeing the compliance process for both Direct and Indirect taxes, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong general tax background, along with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • This position reports to the Head of Accounting in Brazil, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the Global Tax Leadership team in Greece.
  • As a Senior Tax Specialist, you will: Oversee and ensure timely and accurate filing of both direct and indirect tax and withholding tax returns for the legal entity in Brazil.
  • This includes managing tax activities related to ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, IRPJ, CSLL and reviewing ancillary obligations such as CIAP, GIA, and Sped-Fiscal; Coordinate Tax Compliance Activities: Ensure adherence to company deadlines and internal controls; Develop transfer pricing documentation and manage intercompany and cross-border reconciliations; Monitor and research changes in tax legislation, including conducting risk assessments and strategic planning; Lead initiatives related to VAT tax reform, including analyzing regulatory changes and their implications; Collaborate with internal teams to assess current practices and recommend enhancements; Work closely with FP&A to review quarterly/annual forecasts and prepare cash tax forecasts; Assist the tax controversy team with tax audits in Brazil and discuss technical issues with tax auditors, in collaboration with local and global teams; Identify and maintain improvements/automation related to internal controls processes, including tax compliance processes and mitigating risks; Analyze and implement tax benefits related to incentive laws (e.

  • , Sports and R&D); Play a key role in the Indirect and Direct Tax awareness within the BR territory; Address basic Direct/Indirect Tax questions pertaining to Brazil and reviewing contractual relationships that impact the Tax area and provide guidance to relevant stakeholders.
  • What youll bring:Experience working in a large public accounting firm or a multinational corporate tax department; Bachelors degree in accounting or finance preferred; Significant experience and knowledge of the Brazilian tax environment, including ICMS, ICMS-ST, PIS, COFINS, and ISS; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax laws in a business setting, both in Portuguese and English; Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams; Proficiency in both English and Portuguese is required.
