O que você irá fazer

  • Dow Jones Energy is hiring an experienced reporter for its African coal and metals reporting business.
  • Position Title:Research Analyst, Africa Coal and MetalsPosition Location:South AfricaAbout the Role/Position:You will lead our expansion efforts into Africa?s base metals markets while contributing to our coverage of the Southern African coal markets.
  • You will initially work on building out our coverage of Southern Africa?s steel raw materials such as iron ore and manganese, as part of McCloskey?s endeavour to price commodities that are driving the green energy revolution.
  • Other EV battery raw materials like nickel and cobalt are also of interest.
  • The deliverables will include regular market intelligence updates and price gathering on Africa?s metals and coal markets.
  • Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Expand our regional coverage of the base metals behind the green energy revolution Gather price information on a regular basis on thesemarkets Initial focus on Southern Africa?s steel raw materials Build out coverage of other steel raw material metals that, like manganese, are also battery metals Develop an extensive contact base Contribute to our daily and weekly Southern African coal market reports Represent McCloskey in conferences/webinars Knowledge/Experience Preferred:Undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism, finance or business.
  • Three years reporting/research experience in metals, mining, or steel raw materials.
  • Understanding of ferrous, non-ferrous markets a plus.
  • Experience in a daily news publication.
  • Ability to be able to build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated, business-minded and results driven.
  • Detail oriented and innovative thinker.
