  • FUNCTION:Lead the deodorant and soap bars formulas development in complex global product launch projects - major brand projects, higher financial impact, critical markets, more development and interfaces involved.
  • Focus on Deo and Soap Bar technologies and project deliveries such as formula safety and efficacy, industrial scalability, and microbiological resistance.
  • Teach and monitor analysts in laboratory operational activities and product launch processes.
  • Be aware of the main category projects, as well as possible inter-project impacts and overlaps.
  • Occasionally substitute lab manager for budget-related activities, conflict resolution, resource allocation, and people development.
  • Deep knowledge on stick, roll-on, and aerosol formats, as well as Alu-salts chemistry.
  • ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Teach and monitor analysts in the preparation of cosmetic formulations, taking into account the characteristics of raw materials, as well as activities related to product launch processes.
  • Teach and monitor analysts in the preparation of samples, considering appropriate packaging and identification according to the sample''s destination.
  • Teach and monitor analysts in the interpretation and reporting of results, as well as recording information in the company''s internal systems.
  • Represent R&D in product launch projects, dealing with complex global interfaces - major brand projects, higher financial impact, critical markets, more development and interfaces involved.
  • Ensure technical project deliveries such as formula safety and efficacy, industrial scalability, and microbiological resistance.
  • Lead activities for the development of new formulas (safety release, communication support, registration documents, art approval, industrial batch release, etc.
  • ).
  • Lead pre-development activities, involving new approaches to proposed technical challenges.
  • Act in conflict resolution related to the project portfolio and possible inter-project interactions and impacts.
  • Lead HUB topics such as process improvement evaluation, infrastructure extension, technical development tools, indicator visualization tools, etc.
  • Support the category manager in activities related to budget, resource allocation, and people development.
  • Responsible for compliance with Safety, Quality, Health and Environment rules and procedures defined by Beiersdorf.
  • PREREQUISITES:Bachelor''s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering or related fields.
  • 7 years of experience in research and development.
  • Deep knowledge of organic chemistry, nomenclature, characteristics, and functions.
  • Deep knowledge of raw materials and cosmetic formulations, preparation processes, and analysis methodologies.
  • Profound understanding of the internal stages of product development and launch.
  • Knowledge at deodorant formats (cream, stick, roll-on, aerosol) and technologies (Alu-salts and correlates) as well as soap bar formulation.
  • Leadership skills, act as a professional model and inspiration.
  • Fluent in English.
