  • Job Description The Role Fastmarkets is seeking an Assistant Price Reporter to join its Americas metals team, based in São Paulo, Brazil.
  • This individual will be responsible for assessing prices and writing news and market commentary for the Latin American metals industry.
  • In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with cross-regional and cross-functional teams and be part of key projects focused on sustainability.
  • This role will report directly to an Americas editor and requires working on site for a minimum of two days per week, with the anchor days chosen by management.
  • Key Responsibilities Price Discovery and Analysis: Learn how to report on commodity market fundamentals, including understanding price drivers, identifying key end markets and industry participants and asking pertinent questions.
  • Understand pricing processes, maintain compliance standards and training, and back up colleagues on their metals prices to build up a wider knowledge base.
  • News and Thought Leadership: Break news and publish market commentary that demonstrates PRA-aligned insights and adds value for readers.
  • Market Engagement: Manage industry contacts that submit pricing data and provide news exclusives.
  • Attend conferences and external engagement meetings to promote and develop prices.
  • Learn about the competitive PRA landscape and use of Fastmarkets prices in physical and financial contracts.
  • Representation: Positively embrace new ways of working.

  • KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential.
  • Spanish skills preferred.
  • Market Knowledge: Awareness of Latin American metals and financial markets.
  • Analytical Skills: Competency in data analysis, including numbers and spreadsheets.
  • Communication Skills: Interpersonal skills to liaise with industry contacts, respond to queries about prices and manage discrete information confidentially.
