  • This position supports the primary company strategies of Driving Growth, by developing and implementing innovative consumer preferred packaging, sustainable packaging and Funding Growth, by driving savings and standardization efforts globally.
  • The role is cross-functional in nature, working closely with Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, and the Supply Chain.
  • Partnerships with outside packaging vendors are a critical element of job responsibilities.
  • **Specific Responsibilities**- Manage the conceptualization, initiation, development and implementation of new and improved packages and processes including: design generation, prototype development, engineering specifications, mold and machinery qualification, functionality and quality testing, and technology transfer.
  • May lead multi-functional teams in some of these projects- Manage the design of packaging systems and packaging components, ensuring defined needs for ergonomics, equity aesthetics, consumer acceptance, manufacturing capability and quality are met from the program brief through design, engineering and Commercialization- Define and implement standardization and simplification programs, and margin improvement projects- Implement continuous improvement projects focused on existing packaging materials, with a cross- category and holistic mindset.
  • - Establish specifications for packages, processes, and/or equipment, which are consistent with KPI goals and support Quality and EOHS Standards.
  • Provide efficient and timely documentation and/or transfer of manufacturing and engineering technologies.
  • - Partner with Marketing, Divisional/Subsidiary Management, Product Development, and Supply Chain functions to ensure project meets agreed upon goals.
  • Continuously assess and communicate project results vs.
  • goals and take corrective action when required- Partner with Procurement to develop and help contracts with suppliers.
  • Evaluate and coordinate suppliers activity related to on-going projects- Provide the needed information to Procurement for them to generate and present valid Total Delivered Cost information on package/process and other pertinent financial information- Generate the information needed for the Packaging Laboratory to execute lab evaluations for the packaging materials, following the Global testing plans.
  • Support the plant needs in identifying quality defects and driving resolution- Identify and provide rationale for funds needed to successfully deliver project goals- Understand, interpret and refine package testing procedures and standards to support the effective design, validation, and implementation of new packages and packaging technology.
  • Provide meaningful explanations and forward actions to appropriate Division/Subsidiary personnel- Write and present technical and business summaries for both technical and non-technical personnel- Build competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating design trends and innovations in packaging.
  • Stay aware of supplier and competitor new developments, and highlight to appropriate management as needed- Develop, justify and execute capital projects related to packaging (i.

  • molds/machinery)- Communicating with internal stakeholders about project, event or campaign expectations and goals- Collaborating with clients or employers, finance teams and other team members on budgeting and allocating funds- Lead and support the team development- Delegating tasks to appropriate team members- Managing deadlines and progress across the team to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget- Overseeing the delivery of projects and making adjustments as necessary to ensure they are delivered to specifications and high standards- Collecting and analyzing feedback from customers and other project users to gauge satisfaction and success**Basic Qualifications**- BS or MS Degree Required, preferred in Packaging, Engineering, Material Sciences or printing technologies- Solid experience in a consumer products, packaged goods or pharmaceutical industry- Solid experience in Packaging, or roles closely related to Design and/or Packaging- Ability to travel 5-20% (domestic and Global) based on project needs- Intermediate/Advanced English Level**Preferred Qualifications**- Solid experience in Packaging, or roles closely related to Design and/or Packaging- Previous experience in a multi-national company- Experience coordinating packaging development project with Product Development, Marketing and the Supply Chain.
