Technical knowledge required by the position Knowledge · Experience in fieldwork and mapping; · Familiarity with core drilling, logging, sampling and testing of carbonate rocks; · Familiarity with geophysical prospecting desirable but not mandatory; · Familiarity with, or aptitude for learning specialized software packages commonly used in mining industry.
Skills · Demonstrates personal initiative and is self-motivated; · Demonstrates the ability to work in a team environment; · Organization and facilitation skills (planning and organizing, problem solving, analytical, decision making, multi-tasking).
· Field mapping to support prospecting activities and support of current suppliers; · Developing 3D models of the structure and chemistry of carbonate ore deposits; · Planning and supervision of core drilling projects, geophysical surveys and occasional hydrologic studies; · Providing input and support in the development of mine plans; · Assures that the quarries and mines can supply the required quality and quantities of limestone to satisfy our customers by the best integration of geology into mine plans; · Supports Sales and Marketing by advising on the translation of available reserves in the market; · Prospects for new deposits and reports on the geological portion of Due Diligence assignments; · Performs additional duties as assigned.
