  • Position: Senior Product EngineerLocation: Sorocaba, São Paulo, BR; Perth, AU; York, PA, USJob posting end date: 04/27/2025We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our Grinding Engineering Team.
  • You will be responsible for developing critical engineering efforts focused on equipment upgrades, modifications, and new product development.
  • In addition, you''ll offer direct technical support during equipment breakdowns and repairs, working closely with our global team of experienced engineers.
  • Your expertise will ensure that Metsos grinding equipment continues to deliver optimal performance and reliability across the mining industry.
  • In this position, you will report to Sr Manager, Grinding Product Engineering.
  • This position involves up to 20% travel to both domestic and international locations to support engineering projects, customer sites, and field service activities.
  • Team you belong to: You will join a team of Engineers committed to Grinding Mills on Service area, being a part of the global GBP Engineering team to engineer and implement upgrades, modifications, and repairs, enhancing the performance and lifespan of installed grinding equipment in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects.
  • What youll do:Supervise the design and development of structural and mechanical systems for grinding mills and related handling equipment, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects, from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Create 3D models, drawings, specifications, and procedures for grinding equipment, ensuring accurate fabrication, construction, and assembly for retrofits, refurbishments, or upgrades.
  • Drive R&D initiatives focused on developing innovative solutions for grinding equipment and material handling systems.
  • Partner with various departmental experts to determine market trends and conceive new products that include advanced technological developments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Field Service Team, providing expert engineering support during equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure efficient resolution of issues.
  • Engage with an international team of engineers, contributing to global projects and ensuring consistent engineering work ethic across all regions.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance to internal teams and customers, solving complex engineering challenges and delivering real-time solutions during critical operations.
  • Ensure all engineering documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Who you are:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experienced Engineer: You bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with a proven history of mechanical design, equipment development, or process improvement, ideally within the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Creative Problem-Solver: You excel at untangling intricate technical problems, using your expertise to devise sophisticated solutions for equipment design and enhancement.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in advanced CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar), skilled at creating detailed technical drawings, performing stress analysis, and working within tight tolerances.
  • Beneficial: Experience in a multinational environment or familiarity with sustainability-focused engineering approaches would be considered a strong asset.
