  • Job posting end date: 05/18/2025IntroductionWe are seeking a Product Engineer to join the Grinding, Bulk, Pyro (GBP) Business Line in our Services Business Area.
  • Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of solutions for Horizontal Grinding Mills within Metso Service Engineering.
  • The main role is to provide technical leadership and engineering support during project-specific engineering for equipment, including sizing and selecting hydraulic components, creating BOMs, drawings, schematics, calculations, and simulations to ensure system reliability.
  • The role involves maintaining Metsos hydraulic product portfolio and developing custom solutions while collaborating with global engineering teams, suppliers, and customers.

  • This position is mainly located in Sorocaba/SP, but also Perth (Australia) or York (USA).
  • No relocation allowance is provided.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel might be required.

  • What youll doDesign and develop structural and mechanical systems for grinding mills and related equipment, ensuring performance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Plan and execute detailed hydraulic designs for equipment delivery and product development.
  • Develop and implement hydraulic solutions for grinding mills, ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
  • Review project scope, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Create fabrication, construction, and installation drawings.
  • Establish design guidelines and standards for system upgrades, retrofits, and refurbishments.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues, non-conformances, and deviations.
  • Provide technical support to field service teams and customers.
  • Engage with OEM clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and calibration of hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, ISO, ANSI, and company policies.
  • Stay updated on hydraulic technology trends to improve system performance.
  • Who you areBSc or MSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience.
  • Skills in hydraulic system design, component sizing, pump and motor selection, piping, and pressure calculations.
  • Proficiency in CAD, PLM, and simulation software like Hydrosym, Automation Studio, FluidSIM, or Simcenter Amesim.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and travel for technical support.
  • Preferred QualificationsExperience with horizontal grinding mills and large-scale mining equipment.
  • Background in modernization and retrofit hydraulic projects.
