  • Job Summary: We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to design and implement hardware control systems for drones and robotic dogs.
  • The role involves working with PX4 and Unitree hardware platforms, ensuring efficient integration of sensor data streams and control outputs tailored to specific hardware embodiments.
  • This role requires close coordination with Python-based foundation models, as the core model interface must reside in Python.
  • This is a full-time fully remote working opportunity where you will be working as part of a Scrum team which requires working closely with other software engineers, stakeholders and contributors on the project.
  • Working with respect to the US timezone is a requirement for the position.
  • Attending meetings, being actively involved in the decision making process and collaborating with all of these stakeholders are essential parts of this position.
  • Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize embedded systems for PX4-based drones and Unitree robotic dogs.
  • Implement real-time processing of sensor data streams (e.
  • g.
  • , RGB video, audio, IMU).
  • Design and test hardware actuator interfaces for seamless control execution.
  • Collaborate with AI teams to integrate foundation models into hardware platforms.
  • Emphasize seamless integration and real-time execution of Python-based foundation models across embedded systems.
  • Ensure compatibility with local and API-based deployment frameworks.
  • Create comprehensive documentation encompassing hardware configurations, API endpoints, data handling procedures, control loop integration methods, and deployment instructions to support future platform integration and ensure clarity and scalability in deliverables.
  • Required Skills: Proficiency in embedded systems programming (e.
  • g.
  • , C/C++, Python).
  • Proven experience working with Python-based systems for API integration and model orchestration.
  • Experience with PX4 Autopilot and Unitree hardware platforms.
  • Strong understanding of sensor integration and real-time data processing.
  • Knowledge of hardware actuator interfaces and control systems.
  • Familiarity with ROS-based simulators and API integration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize embedded systems for performance and reliability.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SLAM and VIO technologies.
  • Familiarity with Hugging Face APIs and OpenAI real-time streaming APIs.
  • Knowledge of modular hardware design and SWaP optimization.
  • Background in robotics or drone development.
