  • based transit technology client, LevelUP is actively sourcing for a Data Science Systems Engineer who plays a critical role in deploying integrated systems that combine the company''s products with complementary technologies.
  • This role bridges systems engineering and data science to deliver tailored solutions that enhance customer operations.
  • Responsibilities include deploying hardware products and interfaces, analyzing transit-related data, and applying machine learning and statistical techniques to optimize system performance and provide actionable insights.
  • The Systems Engineer collaborates with project teams to analyze customer requirements, design system architecture, and support customer design reviews.
  • This position also leads Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and maintains system documentation to ensure seamless deployment and performance.
  • Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and deployment of integrated systems combining hardware, software, and data technologies.
  • Collect, preprocess, and analyze transit-related data to uncover trends and generate actionable insights.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to optimize operations and enhance system performance.
  • Create clear, visually impactful data reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate system design, integration, and testing tasks to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain programmatic and technical documentation, including design documents, system diagrams, and requirement matrices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into Clever Devices Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) platform.
  • Conduct system performance and reliability analyses, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose corrective actions to enhance customer metrics.
  • Train and mentor junior team members and guide stakeholders in understanding data-driven solutions.
  • Skills & Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Experience: Required minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering, including expertise in data science, hardware, software, and communication technologies.
  • Of those 10 years, minimum of 1+ years of experience applying data science, analytics, or machine learning techniques.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or SAS.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.

  • , Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, data mining, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
  • Familiarity with J1939 and J1708 protocols and hardware troubleshooting techniques.
  • Capabilities: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong documentation and multitasking abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills to collaborate with stakeholders and influence operational decisions.
  • Physical Requirements: Willingness to travel domestically, up to 25%.
  • Ability to operate computer peripherals and view multiple display terminals for extended periods.
