  • OSPADAL UIBHIST AGUS BHARRAIGH, BALIVANICH, ISLE OF BENBECULA, HS7 5LA Catering Services Department Cook/Chef Band 3 £26,869 - £28,998 per annum Plus £1,349 Distant Islands Allowance per annum 20 hours per Week Fixed-term contract for 4 months A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a Chef/Cook to join our existing team at Uist & Barra Hospital.
  • Duties will include producing and serving high-quality meals for patients, staff, and external customers.
  • You will also be required to supervise all operational aspects of the kitchen and associated areas including deliveries, preparation, storage rooms, and wash-up, including supervision of staff working in these areas.
  • Preferred experience within a commercial/industrial background would be an advantage but not necessary; hospitality experience would also be advantageous.
  • You would be expected to have comprehensive knowledge of food hygiene regulations and possess good all-round food preparation & supervisory skills in order to carry out this job successfully.
  • Candidates would require SVQ/NVQ level 5 (Hospitality / professional cookery) or City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 (or similar).
  • An Intermediate food hygiene certificate is also required, although candidates showing willingness to gain the certificate whilst in post would be considered.
