Initially a SaaS platform to streamline quoting, XILO is now building the future of insurance operations using AI Agents.
Weve recently closed our Series A from top-tier investors and are growing quickly.
Our mission is to automate the marketing, sales, and service workflows of insurance agencies with AI Agents that do the workstart to finish.
About the Role: Were looking for anAI Agent Engineerwho hasbuilt real AI agents that execute complex,multi-step workflowsin production environments (or locally).
Youve gone beyond basic prompt engineering and RAGyouve designed stateful agents, handled tool-calling, memory, routing, and orchestrated agents using LangGraph, OpenAI SDK, SmolAgent, or similar frameworks.
In this role, youll own the architecture, design, and implementation of AI Agents that interact with third-party systems (web apps, APIs, documents) to complete insurance workflows autonomously.
Youll partner with founders, product, and engineering to take agents from prototype to productionand ensure theyre resilient, auditable, and accurate.
Key Responsibilities: Design and implement multi-step AI Agentsusing agentic frameworks(LangGraph, OpenAI SDK/Swarm, Google ADK, etc.
).
Architect robust workflows for agents that interact with browser automation, APIs, LLMs, PDFs, and CRMs.
Optimize latency, cost, and performance across the agent lifecycle.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate agents into our core platform.
Create strong observability and debugging tools to ensure agent performance and accountability.
Handle prompt engineering, function-calling, memory, tool creation, and multi-agent orchestration.
Stay on the frontier of agent research and apply new findings pragmatically.
You Might Be a Fit If: Youveshipped agent-based systemsthat go beyond chat UXe.

, agents that fill forms, move through websites, analyze documents, or trigger downstream workflows.
Youre fluent in one or more of the agentic frameworks:LangGraph, SmolAgent, OpenAI SDK, Google ADK, CrewAI, etc.
You are an excellent backend engineer who codes daily and owns systems end to end.
Youre obsessive aboutreliability, debuggability, and ensuring AI systems behave deterministically when needed.
Youve worked withLLMs via API(OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Mistral, or fine-tuned models).
You understand when to use LLMs vs deterministic logic and how to blend both.
Youre deeply organized, low ego, and can lead through action and collaboration.
You care about product and user value just as much as the tech stack.
Bonus Points: Experience withRPA, Selenium, or building automation bots for web workflows.
Background ininsurance, fintech, or other compliance-heavy verticals.
Contributions to open-source agentic frameworks or related tooling.
Knowledge of DevOps and production monitoring for AI services.
