  • About The Role: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Academic Coordinator to lead, develop, and support our team of Academic Consultants in the ELT (English Language Teaching) sector.
  • This pivotal role sits at the intersection of education, sales, marketing, and publishing ideal for someone who thrives in hybrid environments and is passionate about people development, educational innovation, and customer engagement.
  • The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-impact academic support to schools, teachers, and partners across Brazil.
  • This includes overseeing training, coaching, and workload distribution for a team of 5 Academic Consultants, while also collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Publishing teams.
  • Role ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development:Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 5 Academic Consultants spread across different regions.
  • Ensure balanced and strategic task distribution based on individual strengths and school needs.
  • Build and implement a development roadmap to enhance the pedagogical, linguistic, and commercial skills of the team.
  • Establish a strong "champion" system for knowledge specialization across products, skills, and formats.
  • Lead internal training initiatives and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Academic Strategy & Content Development:Collaborate with the Publishing and Product teams to create and curate academic portfolios aligned with Macmillans ecosystem.
  • Oversee the creation of curriculum mappings, academic planners, launch PPTs, and training materials for key accounts.
  • Design and deliver impactful academic workshops and events tailored to school managers and educators.
  • Ensure that all academic content reflects best practices in ELT methodology, assessment, and language education trends.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with the Marketing team to align messaging and campaigns with pedagogical narratives and customer needs.
  • Provide feedback and insights to the Publishing and Product teams regarding market trends, teacher feedback, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Ensure consistency across academic, marketing, and sales materials.
  • Represent the academic perspective in go-to-market strategies and product positioning.
  • Operational Oversight:Support the operational needs of the Academic Consultants, including scheduling, visit planning, and CRM follow-ups.
  • Monitor KPIs related to customer engagement, school retention, and consultant performance.
  • Ensure consultants are equipped to effectively present the full Macmillan ecosystem, including platforms, CPD programs, assessments, and resources.
  • Manage academic input for strategic accounts, especially within the top 20% revenue-driving client base.
  • Experience, Skills & Qualifications:Essential:Bachelors degree in Education, Languages, Linguistics, or related fields (Masters a plus).
  • At least 5 years of experience in ELT or educational publishing, including classroom or consultancy experience.
  • Prior leadership or people management experience preferred.
  • Experience with pre-service or in-service qualifications such as CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of ELT methodologies, curriculum design, and teacher development.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in English at C1 or C2 level desired; Portuguese proficiency required.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with sales approaches and client relationship management (SPIN Selling is a plus).
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and a hands-on attitude.
